Hi, I’m Abbie, a Mom, Wife, and an certified holistic health coach.  Welcome to my site dedicated to EMPOWERING you to create a THRIVING and sustainable lifestyle.  

I received my training as a holistic health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a cutting-edge health coach training program. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.

My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.  Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center, and Geneen Roth, best-selling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health.  Drawing on these skills, and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes with real and lasting results.


Health and Wellness have not always been my passion.  In fact, as a child, I was a very picky eater.  Carbohydrates were my favorite, and I rarely ate fruit and vegetables, unless they were fried or mashed.  I am pretty certain that I did not eat a single piece of fruit until I went off to college!  In high school, I was very active and played several sports, so I didn’t really think too much about what I ate or it’s impact on my body.

College was the first time that I started to be concerned about what I ate, but not in a good way.  After my freshman year of eating anything and everything not healthy, although still exercising, I did not like the way by body looked or felt.

So, I decided to make some changes.  I began reading all of the glossy fashion, health, and fitness magazines I could, and decided that I needed to “get skinny”.  Now, this was back in the days when “Fat Free was King”, so I only ate things that had zero fat.  I consumed A LOT of carbohydrates, and lived off of packaged, processed, “healthy” foods.  Lean Cuisine and Healthy Choice became my dinners, and Fat Free plain bagels or english muffins were my breakfast of champions.  See what I mean about A LOT of carbohydrates, and close to zero fat?  This way of eating continued after college, and in the beginning years of my teaching career. Side Note: I graduated from college with a teaching degree, and taught Elementary Education for 6 years.  Teaching in some form or another has always been a passion of mine.  So, after many years of eating fat free processed junk, depriving my body of what it really needed, and lots and lots of cardio,  I was definitely skinny, but NOT healthy!

It wasn’t until I became pregnant with my first child, that I started to realize that what I was living off of was definitely not healthy for a growing baby or myself.  So, I began researching more and more health and nutrition articles and books.  The more I read about food, nutrition, and exercise, them more I loved learning about it.  

Fast forward to having a son, and a daughter, and realizing that I needed to find a way of living that was healthy, balanced, and sustainable for the long run.  That also left me with energy to raise a healthy, happy family.  After many years of reading about health and nutrition, keeping up with the latest trends, and experimenting with several diets and theories with my body, I have finally figured out what I need to feel my best.  Hint:  It is not depriving yourself, it is not hours of exercise, it is not starting diet after diet on Monday.  It is a lifestyle.  A lifestyle that is healthy, sustainable, and leaves you with energy to THRIVE.

This is when I decided that I wanted to help other women.  To teach other women(remember, I’m a teacher at heart) how to live and maintain a healthy, active, and THRIVING lifestyle.  Not just for their family, but for themselves.  We all deserve to feel good, to be fit, and to make our health a priority.  

I chose to get serious, and to make my passion my purpose, so I enrolled in The Institute for Integrative Nutrition.  I chose IIN because of it’s holistic approach to health, and it’s core belief of bio-individuality.  Bio-individuality simply means that every body, every person, is different.  What works for one, will not work for all.  I love this concept so much, because after years and years of experimenting with different diets and theories, I gave up, and found what works best for me.  Now, I want to help other women find the right “prescription” that fuels their body in a way that helps them to THRIVE.   In order for you to THRIVE,  it is going to take more that just food and exercise.   You need to find balance in mind, body, and spirit, and that is why I chose this integrative and holistic approach to health and well-being.  It is life changing if you just give it a chance!
